Oh So Close...and Oh So Excited!

Appliances and landscaping. These seem to be the only two things I'm missing. The house looks fantastic! I absolutely love it. Which is good, since I'll absolutely be paying for it. :) My LO has been very proactive in gathering these last few docs that are needed to ensure closing happens on time. There is still blue tape everywhere, but I know they will take care of those things. I do see a few things that I'd like corrected, but that's what the walk through is for. Can't wait!!

NVR

I got a call this morning from my loan processor, and she informed me that I have my final loan approval! It felt like it took a long time, but in reality, I went to underwriting on July 15th. So glad the final approval is in....the only things needed now are the appraisal and my hazard insurance information. I know lots of people haven't had a pleasant NVR experience, but I must say, it's been fairly smooth for me (knock on wood, since it's not totally over!). I was all prepared to have to re-send suff, and it never happened. Let's just hope the smooth sailing continues until Ihave the keys in hand.

More pics

Took the camera back down to the house today to get a shot of the front with the painted door. Also, I really like the outside light fixtures. I think they are pretty.

The black door

Still waiting on the appliances for the kitchen. Of course, not much has changed from yesterday. Just looks like they've fixed some drywall issues and done some more paint touch ups.

Kitchen waiting on appliaces! And a fixed cabinet door.

Foyer transition to the dining room, and carpet color for the rest of the house (only the family room is different) I'm pretty satisfied with it - not too light, not too dark.

I have a feeling these last few weeks are going to feel like forever!!! :)

Getting Really Close

I stopped by the house and forgot my camera!!! Ugh. But what I saw made me very happy. First thing I noticed was that my front door has been painted black. I think the front of the house looks really good. My neighbor was outside, and she informed me that my sod will be laid next week. Whoooo Hooooo!

Also, I finally saw the granite counter tops, and I think they look perfect. And....all the carpet is in. LOVE the family room carpet with the wood floor. Now if I could only get that 'final' approval from NVR, all would be right in my world.

I did take a few pics with the phone I had with me. Not the greatest. I definitely will try to head back tomorrow and take more pics!

Great Progress

Things seem to be moving right along. I have electricity, along with lights, and the air conditioning was humming. Felt great inside the house, on ALL floors. Yay! While I was there, the sidewalk was being poured on the side of the house, and the driveway is done. The crew was also doing some grading for the yard. Still no counter tops, but I'm sure they are coming.

Some Little Things

Progress is occurring, even though it's not really super fun stuff - like those counter tops I'm dying to see!! But I love progress...anyway it comes. My countdown is under 30 days, and I'm soooo ready to move. (being ready to pack is a whole 'notha story!)

Shower is looking good

Pretty, Pretty Everywhere!!

I went to the house on Saturday morning to meet with the Home Depot blind installer so he could measure all the windows. Imagine my surprise when I found a half naked man in my bathroom, installing the tile. Exciting! (not the naked part, the tile part!). I really didn't want to get in his way, so I already purposed that I'd come back to check out the tile work. So after church today, I went to see and take pictures of the progress. All the latest pics below :)

They've finally moved the dumpster, so I could get a good pic of the whole house. Just need the door painted.

Cabinets and Trim

Things seem to be progressing nicely. I'm happy to be approaching the 30 day mark! I spent this past weekend with my very best friend scoping out how much blinds are gonna set me back. It wasn't pretty....blinds are EXPENSIVE. And plantation shutters....my girlfriend looks at me and says, "Ok, so you can either go on a cruise, or get plantation shutters". Yeah, I'll take cruise for $100 Alex. Sheesh. Anywho...on to some pics!!

Can't wait to see these with granite and floors!!

Windowsills and baseboards

A couple of places look like this...these need some work!

Looks like paint is up next...I like the Kilim Beige better, but Cool Platinum will do for now

Christmas in July!

I certainly hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July holiday! My family and I certainly had a wonderful time together. And although we had a day of fun-filled events planned, that didn't stop me from swinging on by the house just to see if anyting was new. And what did we find?????

GARAGE GOODIES!! YaY! A Christmas delievery in July :)

I can't wait to see it all come together. The inside of the house looks pretty much the same right now...it's drywalled.

Ohhhh, and a pic for all those other members of the e-family who have commented on the cleanliness (or lack thereof) of the workers in the house. I was just reading a post the other day about spilled soda under drywall....well anywho, a present was left for me as well.

A lovely chicken bone in my family room :(

A Nice Surprise

Last week at the pre-dry wall meeting, my PM mentioned that the siding and shutters would be worked on this week. We were quite surprised when we arrived at the house today...as seen by the look on baby girl's face.  This is what we saw upon our arrival.....

Close up of La Cava brick, Almond trim, Silver Mist siding and Wine shutters

(booooo for the dumpster being in the way...couldn't get a good shot of the whole house - maybe next time!)

All the siding is completely done! I'm happy with how it all turned out. Not looking much different on the inside - the mudding/taping process is ongoing. Can't wait for cabinets! :)
