And We're.......Waiting!

Why oh why is waiting so hard to do? A wise person once told me "you learn to be patient by being patient".

Ugghhhh! I should get an A+++ in patience after this home building journey.

Who out there is like me...just a BIG stalker....
stalking a big pile of dirt (that isn't changing)
stalking county permit sites
stalking the SR for a pre-con meeting date
stalking the PM like 'dig, man, DIIIIIGGGGGG'
stalking the calendar, wondering why days are moving slowly
stalking RH blogs, and wishing for your time to start

stalking....Stalking....STALKING!!!  my new way of life

</vent>

Yes, I know in the end it will all be worth it. (Can't wait! Lol!)

Now returning to my regularly scheduled lesson in patience.

  1. We were there for a while. It is really frustrating and it does try your patience. Hopefully, it will get going for you very soon!!! Keep stalking the dirt pile though!

  2. I, too, should be attending Stalkers Anonymous. But take it from me: once it goes, it goes quickly! We broke ground a week ago yesterday, and I already have a foundation, and it should be framed next week, weather permitting. I think once it goes under roof, it will be hard to stalk because so much of that work is hard to see (wiring and such). It will happen soon, just hang in there!

  3. I was just on the county permit site earlier today. I did see incremental progress that wasn't there the last time I checked the site ... last night. It's so rushed from the moment you even put a hold on a lot that I guess it's hard to adjust to this down time.

  5. Omg....I feel the same way. Still have not heard from NVR mortgage and I am pulling my hair out. SR says if there was an issue he would have been contacted. What is the website to check in PG county.

    1. Hi Nikki! This is the website that I found: http://egov.princegeorgescountymd.gov/Epermitsexternal/Site/Public/Citizens/Permitdefault.Aspx

Hopefully it will give you one more thing to stalk. :)

And don't worry about NVR...they take forever. Everything is probably fine, but I know the waiting can be excruciating.

Are you blogging? We can ‘cyber-wait’ together. Where in PG are you building?

  7. Yes, I have the stalking problem and have learned to accept it :)

I've figured out (too late?) the home building process is NOT for those with little to no patience, like myself.

Hang in there, girl! Your time will come - even though it does not seem like it now. I know it can be frustrating seeing other's homes being build while you are waiting for yours. In the end, there is going to be a great house to make your home.

In the meantime, stalk on :)

I’m majorly excited to see your progress! Soon you’ll have a whole (very pretty) house!!

  8. Oh how I remember posting this same blog....the waiting game.

All I can really say is try and enjoy the process, you will prob never do this again. So throw yourself into it, stalk, obsess do all those things, absorb it all! It goes fast.

Enjoy the process and be proactive, keep on these guys, they miss a lot of things (i.e. my decorative front window that took 3 months to figure out).

    1. Hey DW! Thanks for the encouragement. And I LOL'd!! I BETTER NOT do this again, so that's a great point. I'm going to take it all in...all part of the process. :-)

Oh man, I saw your post about your door. I haven't done all my blog reading catch up today, but I hope they can get it fixed for you without too much trouble!!

  9. I actually get a big kick at the people that come and stalk my blog.. Keep in mind that blogging is a good outlet for frustration, but also information. So Share Share Share!

    1. Hi James and Megan! You are totally right, the blogs are a great outlet...and I'm addicted to them! It's really helping me cope with the VERY slow passing of time.

And you can count on me for stalking! I'm all over that.

    1. It really is a consolation, so thank you! It's great to know that other have traveled the path and made it. And that there are some walking along (and suffering - lol) with me!!

Enjoying your blog!! Looks like your progress is picking up. :)
