Cabinets and Trim

Things seem to be progressing nicely. I'm happy to be approaching the 30 day mark! I spent this past weekend with my very best friend scoping out how much blinds are gonna set me back. It wasn't pretty....blinds are EXPENSIVE. And plantation shutters....my girlfriend looks at me and says, "Ok, so you can either go on a cruise, or get plantation shutters". Yeah, I'll take cruise for $100 Alex. Sheesh. Anywho...on to some pics!!

Can't wait to see these with granite and floors!!

Windowsills and baseboards

A couple of places look like this...these need some work!

Looks like paint is up next...I like the Kilim Beige better, but Cool Platinum will do for now

  1. Looking good Stacey! I know about these darn blinds - we are looking at the 2 1/2 in faux wood white ones...and with 10,000 windows in the house, it adds up. Haven't even started to think about curtains yet!

  3. I vote for the cruise too. You can do a ton of curtains in your house for way less than shutters. It is coming together beautifully.

  4. We are starting to think about blinds too...I'm looking at the faux wood white ones at home depot too. Installation fee looks reasonable... just the cost of the blinds will add up. I think I'm leaving all the windows on the back of my house open (except for the master bathroom and bedroom) so, all downstairs windows will probably be uncovered.. that will help some! I can't wait to get to the 30 day mark!! Seems so far away!

    1. Yes, I ditto you on Home Depot....that's looking like it may win my business. And I wish I had the option of leaving some windows open (that would be my preferance), but with so many neighbors, and living on a corner - they would probably all appreciate my blinds. LoL!

  5. I did alot of the fax white wood blinds in my home, I thought they were reasonable at home depot and you get them cut to size there in the store. I never paid more than $20 per blind...we also hang them ourselves, its pretty easy guys...dont be scared!

BTW, you SAVOY is completely different than mine...my downstairs windows go all the way to the floor with ledges...also you kitchen is like another home...LOL...Our kitchens are not much alike at all how about that??

Looking good!! I cant wait to see the granite either.

    1. DW...I'm scared. LoL. I'm soooo not a DIY'er. My goal is to get better, but for the safety of us all, I better leave blinds to professionals. :) And yes, Home Depot is looking like the place to go!

My downstairs windows on the front of the house go all the way to the floor...it doesn't look like it from the outside because of the walk out, but those front windows are pretty low - with the ledges. I love that about the SAVOY!! I *totally love* your kitchen island. I was offered the tiny square island in the middle, and chose not to get it. I like the open floor space of the kitchen. Isn't it funny how the same house can look so different??

AND speaking of different....have you gone on the Ryan website lately?? They REALLY changed the SAVOY floor plan. I think I like ours better! Check it out!!

    2. I just went on the webiste and the master bedroom suite is really different huh? It seems there is NOT a private water closet? Not two walkin closets in the master?

See they now offer my gormet L shaped island though? I was told it was a nonstandard request, also along with not having a "thru way" into the morning room on both sides of the kitchen, which looks like you have, and I opted out of that plan.

My water closet is in its OWN room within the master bath. i LOVE that! Still my fav room in the house by far...due to my seamless shower.

Also you brick is Lacava but completely diff from mine.LOL.

I am officially jealous - I remember at one point when we were at the same point in the process, and now you have cabinets and I don't even have drywall!!!
