It's a Whole House

Tomorrow will mark the 30th day since I've broken ground, and it's a whole house!

Today's visit was certainly a good one. The crew was still working hard, and my oh-so-nice neighbor was outside tending to the yard. Always good to chat with the neighbors - they have good tips about home care, as well as the neighborhood. I'm as happy with my neighborhood selection as I am the actual home. Grateful!!

Ohhh, and I spied windows and doors in the garage. YaY!

Hard working man!!!

I spy Windows and Doors!!!

  2. Looking good Stacey, looking good!!

The placement of your basement slider is in an interesting location? Was that the standard due to your lot placement or a special request. I had our basement moved because I did not want it under the deck to capture sunlight.

    1. Thanks Nadase! I'm quite excited.

I think the basement slider is in the 'standard' location. The model, unfortunately, is NOT a walk out, so I didn't really see exactly how it would turn out. The other side of the house is the unfinished part of the basement, and then you have the portion under the morning room, which I will eventually make a bedroom. I agree that the light situation won't be ideal once I put the deck up, but I hope to appease myself by having a nice double-floor outdoor space, with a deck coming down to a beautiful patio.

Hope you are still enjoying your BEAUTIFUL ROME!! :)

  7. I love that you are getting a walkout, you will get tons of natural light in your basement. Great action shots of men at work. You couldn't pay me enough to stand on the roof like that one guy.

    1. Can you tell I like windows??? I'll cringe when it's time to cover all of them. Lol. And yes, I have the fireplace on the back of the house. In the last pic, look right above the basement slider...see the box sticking out??? Yes, this will be sticking out on my soon-to-be (one day) deck. But the back of the house worked better for how I envisioned the family room.

    2. ahhh...OK

Did you get the 2 foot bump out in the living room? This is like "Where's Waldo" for me since its the same house..LOL

    3. Yes, I got the bump out in the family room. Only thing I didn't get was the garage bump out. Which I wanted, but really didn't need. And I have a reverse layout too....your Savoy is 'per plan', right? Not reversed? I stare at your house all the time. LoL.
